MiniCo Insurance has added three new features to their existing self storage tenant coverage.

1. Blanket Property Storage enables coverage for multiple locations.

2. Extended Business Income Coverage enables coverage for actual loss incurred from 15 months to 18 or 24 months.

3. Date Compromise Coverage enables coverage for data theft.

MiniCo insurance is currently available in almost all the United States.

Big Box Storage, a San Diego based company has recently been bought out by SmartBox, who is known for their big red boxes. Smartbox is currently based in Richmond, VA and they are hoping to expand their markets into the west coast with this acquistion.

Due to the recent flooding in Washington, many families have been forced to move their belongings into a flood free zone. U-Haul facilities in the state have offered 30 days free rent for the flood victims and they are also donating boxes.

U-Haul is giving its best effort to give back to the community, especially those who have lost everything. U-Haul has stated they will continue to provide services as long as the community needs it.

Storage Vaults of Canada has just acquired 10 storage facilities from Canadian Pups Storage, another mobile storage company. Canadian Pups Storage has also closed down their franchises after the recent acquisition, giving Storage Vault all rights to ownership and franchising.

Under the new agreement, Storage Vaults has the exclusive rights to Canadian Pups Storage for 10 years and has the option of four 10 year renewal terms.

Chartwell Independence Brokers has recently added commerical self storage insurance to their services. Their new insurance program is offered for all types of self storage such as mini storage, RV Storage, self storage, boat storage, etc.

Currently Chartwell is working with independent insurance brokers to distribute and market their new line of insurance.
