The newly acquired facilities are located in Vallejo, CA and Morgan Hill, CA for a combined price of $14.1 million. The new sites will be changed to SmartStop Self Storage, the brand name of Strategic Storage Trust.

U-Haul Storage facilities in Southern Illinois are offering 30 days free self storage for people affected by the recent deadly tornadoes. U-Haul is also offering a box exchange program called Take a Box, Leave a Box. Self Storage customers or locals passing any U-Haul facilities are encouraged to leave any unused boxes for others to reuse.

Big Key Self Storage in Miami, Florida is offering free electronic waste recycling to the community during facility office hours. Big Key is partnering with Florida E-Waste Recycling and Cell Phones for Soldiers to make their “Go Green” efforts more widespread throughout Miami.

They will be accepting cell phones, DVD players, CD’s, cameras, mp3 players, computers, fax machines, and any other electronics. Any cell phones that are donates are used for prepaid calling cards for soldiers who are overseas. Cell Phones for Soldiers turns in any recycled cell phones to ReCellular, and are given a small donation for each phone.
